Joan Mael Peneau a.k.a Maelstrom, Mr Strom or Joaan, is France’s official ambassador of Bass Music. Since his debut on the scene in 2009, Maelstrom has succeeded in gaining the support of artists across the globe, including the likes of Laurent Garnier, BoysNoize, Claude Vonstroke, Bok Bok, Lvis 1990, Teki Latex & Orgasmic, Crookers, Djedjotronic, and DJ Zinc. In addition to being highly acclaimed by his peers, Maelstrom has also gained quite a fan base proven by his multiple time’s charting on Beatport’s top 50 best sellers list many times.

Fusing together the sounds of classic Detroit techno sounds with elements of modern electro but with French class and sophistication.
